Dr. Kamel Jaber
- Doctor Kamel Jaber is a researcher with more than five years of experience in research and evidence-based medicine.
- Over the past few years, he has published multiple papers in highly reputable and indexed journals and contributed many abstracts to local and international conferences.
- Dr. Kamel is also a member of the Office of Medical Research at the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan.
- He was appointed as a research advisor to supervise and guide graduation projects and other research projects of medical students in both basic and clinical years at his medical school.
- Kamel currently holds regular face-to-face interactive sessions and workshops targeting different study designs, with a great focus on equipping research enthusiasts with solid skills in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Supervisor of multiple research projects with regular follow-up with participants.
- The medical intern is now providing research opportunities in different fields encompassing health sciences in general.
- Speaker and Moderator of large events with scopes in medicine, research, and teaching.
The research design and Statistical analysis course aims to pave the road for new researchers and those interested in understanding different types of study designs, the types of variables in research, how to measure such variables and how to present these variables in a visually appropriate and intriguing manner.
This course explores the most important terms and values used in biomedical research, including populations, samples, power, P value, significance, types of error, and normality, and teaches students how to apply their theory to practice.
The course also spans descriptive statistics, including measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion, as well as the most vital inferential statistical tests applied in biomedical research.
The course includes a module explicitly concerned with hypothesis testing, Null hypothesis, Alternative hypothesis, and examples for practice!
All in all, the course aims to equip the participants with sufficient skills to interpret medically reported results, understand common statistical terms, determine the most appropriate statistical tests for their data, and greatly prepare them for courses focused on specific types of study designs such as clinical trials, retrospective and prospective studies, reviews, and bibliometric studies in the near future!
• The course employs elaborate graphic representations and custom-made graphs for diverse topics
• The course uses examples from general sciences, health sciences and some clinical scenarios to allow students to expand their view of research and evidence-based medicine
• This course will build a solid base for those interested in biomedical research and propel them to absorb advanced research courses with ease
