**************ATTENTION ****************
I am thrilled about your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and excel in your exams. To ensure you make the most of this course, please follow these instructions:
- Before your exam, ensure you have completed all the lectures. ObGyn exams are comprehensive and cover many topics. You need to master all these topics, and I am here to help you doing that. Study early and in an organized manner to cover all the required topics.
- Follow the order listed in the classroom syllabus (below). Do NOT follow the YouTube listing or the numbering in the video titles. Our work is organized here in this classroom, and the syllabus is designed to make it easier for you.
- Please join our Telegram group [ https://t.me/+uhhLkLFiRUAwNzA8 ] where you will find corrected past papers, important notes, and additional resources/tables.
The notes are tagged with hashtags #OSCE, #THEORY, and #PAST to help you navigate based on your exam. However, I recommend reviewing and studying all notes before ANY exam. For example, before your theory exam, study the #OSCE, #THEORY, and #PAST notes. The dossier includes an additional topic on obstetric ultrasound, which does not have a recorded lecture. The information is already discussed and scattered throughout the recorded lectures, but I have provided a separate topic in the dossier to help you consolidate the information.
- Topics on 1) Operative Vaginal Delivery and 2) Normal Pregnancy are discussed in the lectures using PDFs other than the dossier. The dossier sections contain a few additional information (not much) that you need to study. If you find any of this information difficult to understand, feel free to ask me. If there are multiple inquiries about a topic, I am happy to record a new lecture using the dossier pages for those topics.
Finally, there are two errors in the dossier, which I have mentioned in the Telegram notes, but some students might miss them. Here they are:
- Foul-smelling vaginal discharge in a toddler is indicative of a foreign body, not bacterial vaginosis.
- The operative delivery of choice for a fully engaged mature baby is a vacuum, not a forceps, unless contraindicated or should be avoided.
- The cutoff for detecting a baby via transabdominal ultrasound is a β-hCG level of 6000 IU, whereas for transvaginal ultrasound, it is 1500-2000 IU *this is not mentioned mistakenly but JU doctors rely on these old guidelines*
That’s all! Enjoy your studies and reach out if you need any assistance.
